Making Terrariums!!!

If you want to know what this is, this is a picture of me and my partners terrarium!! In our terrarium we got to put insects inside them and we got to do a lot of creative things with our terrariums. The way we made our terrariums is that we got a bucket, soil, seeds, insects, and water to plant them.
The plant that grew the best in mostly everyone ones terrariums were the radish and the corn and pea. The plant that did not grow good was mostly all the clovers because they did not get good water.
Environmental factors are factors that influenced my terrarium was the sun and when we poured water to water the plants all the time. The insects also influenced our Terrarium too. The insects that we put in our Terrarium were the isopods and the darkling beetles, mostly none of the insects survived!
So, I just explained what we really did with our Terrariums and I thought it was really fun looking at all the cool Terrariums.

My Observations on Terrariums

The way we set up our terrariums are that we put enough soil and we did not dig the holes so big and when we put the seeds in the correct holes then we watered the seeds but we didn't overflow them. My observations on the terrariums are that the pea grew really tall and since we covered the top of the terrarium all the water could not evaporate so the sides were sort of foggy.

Now i will talk about the bugs. The bugs i observed on were the beetles and the isopods. I figured out that the isopods prefer the soil more than the sawdust and the beetles mostly prefer both. Most of the beetles died because there was too much light in the terrariums there was not enough darkness. Even though i didn't observe the foods they eat. They mostly like to eat the apples and some carrots, but the isopods don't really eat anything.

These are mostly the things i observed with the bugs and the soil and plants and the food they eat too. Science was really fun when we made the terrariums.

Having An Awesome Time In Camp

This is a picture of my group which is Cari, Bobby and the polgar which is Nick and me (Rita) . In the picture my group and me were in the cafeteria at camp. It was really fun because first we chose someone to be the polgar and we dress them up and whoever gets more claps is the winner. My group did not win though. Instead of only dressing up a polgar we learned making things with strings in the fire place room with Mr.Reed.

In the cafeteria we got to eat mac & cheese, and tacos and snacks like pretzals and etc. There is also this person called the "hopper" and that person has to get all the food for the people at your table. When i was the hopper it was not fun because it was taco day and taco day was not fun because everyone at my table wanted tacos (which are really good) and i only got to eat 2, but it was still okay.

My favorite part about camp were when we got to eat, and the long hikes in the classes. But I really liked when we got to dissect the owl pellets and the night activities were really fun too. I did like the polgar activity beacause we got to dress someone up and whoever gets the most claps wins. Camp was really fun.

Our Awesome Foss Plane

In this picture it shows Brendon and i (Rita) testing out a Foss plane that we both tried to make.
The way me and Brendon made the Foss plane is by first getting 2 Popsicle sticks and shaving the ends off by using sand paper, then we got 2 straws and cut them in half and slided them through the bigger straw, (they were dangling sort of) after we put the half straws in between the 2 Popsicle sticks and Mr.Reed stapled them together, then we got a propeller and 2 hangers we stuck one on the back and one on the front we stretched a rubber band on each hook.
We tested the plane by testing out how many winds it takes to go all the way without hitting the chair across the room it took 25 to go all the way, then we tested how much winds it takes to go half way and that took 20 winds to go half way.
After Mr.Reed said that we could try out different rubber bands and i learned that the bigger the rubber band the less winds it takes! It was a really fun experiment.

And my dad got us new movies like Bolt, Igor, Madagascar 3 Escape To Africa, and a new Open Season i did enjoy the movies because they all had 2 things in common first they both were funny, next they both had a funny charector in them. But from watching all those movies my eyes started to hurt so i ate some carrots and fruit salad with a smoothie. Well thats what i did on Sunday, i watched ALOT of movies!!

A Super EXITING Day I Enjoyed!!!

I am writing about a very exiting day about my DAD!!! The reason i am writing about this is because my dad just came back from the army (Iraq) and when he came back i was so,so happy and my family and me had a good time with my dad we went to allot of places like McDonald's, Meigher, Kroger, Sam's Club, and the Mall. The next day was my dads Birthday and we went wherever my dad wanted to go and we went to my dads moms house, and my aunts house we saw all of our cousins there it was very exiting!! We had a great time with my dad and i am really, really glad he is here. Another way my mom said that we should spend time with my dad is by going to Kalahari because they made new cool stuff there and last time we went there almost every ride was messed up, but now my dad will have fun on all the new rides. So today was almost the best day of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I am still exited now)!!!!!

Barack Obama's Inauguration Day

Today the whole school is watching about Barack Obama's inauguration day! Now Barack Obama has been sworn into presidency or the white house which is a big deal, because now Barack Obama is going to be our first African American as a president. And he has already made his big oath so I hope that he actually will be a really good president and keep his promises. I do believe that Barack Obama will be a good president. I would like Barack Obama to stop the war and maybe lower the gas prices. This is a exiting day to because he will be our 44Th president. And this is what happened on inauguration day!!

My Thoughts On Donating

Dear Walled Lake Community Families,

I believe that people should always help each other because we are one, and I am here to ask you to please donate goods to the Hospitality House. When my class and I went out to the Hospitality House we all felt great about putting the food on the shelves. You would also feel great doing it, also! Please bring other people you know.

We are also asking people if they could probably offer their time as a volunteer, and make a financial donation, so that the Hospitality House could get more nonperishable goods like cereal, juice, peanut butter, jelly, etc. So far the Hospitality House has served over 200 families, and if you help, we can help even more families.

Other ways you could help others is maybe do the turkey run. You may also have mitten trees and like at my church I have done the mitten tree several times with my family. You might donate to Purple Heart. Trust me you will want to participate in giving.

When my class went to the Hospitality House, all the food we brought weighed about 971 pounds. When my class and I entered the Hospitality House we all met Kristy. She is the manager and helps families get what they need.

We also know other places that donate stuff to the Hospitality House. They are Pizza Hut, Kroger, and Costco.
So there are lots of businesses who donate.
Let your heart be kind. So you could do this to help the Hospitality House. We need your help.
Sincerely,
Rita

Christmas Day

I can't wait until Christmas I think it is going to be a blast. I think that I will be getting stuff that I really want. But me on the other side I really love getting presents for other people because I love sort of spending some of my money to buy other people presents. This year I have alot of stuff on my wish list and some of them i really want and some stuff i dont really want, but the most important thing about Christmas is spending time with your family and going to church. And that is the end of what i have to say.
